Acupuncture
Great Day Chiropractic welcomes acupuncturist, Stephen Arnold! The style of acupuncture Stephen practices is one of the most ancient, continuously-practiced medical systems in the world. Originating in ancient China, it is a unique system of medicine that diagnoses and treats the underlying cause of disease. Though acupuncture as a whole is widely known to relieve pain, Classical Five-Element Acupuncture is used to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions on all levels - physical, mental, and spirit. Scroll to the bottom of this page to learn more.
What is Classical Five-Element Acupuncture?
Classical Five-Element Acupuncture (CF-EA) is a complete system of medicine that has successfully diagnosed, healed and prevented diseases for over two thousand years.
While it can provide relief from a myriad of symptoms, more importantly CF-EA corrects the physical, emotional, mental and spirit imbalances that cause symptoms to arise.
Treating you as the unique individual you are, both symptoms and the root cause of disease are addressed. Over time this leads to a restoration of health, improved immunity, youthful energy, emotional balance and openness towards life.
CF-EA is a powerful, yet non-invasive system. It effectively unravels illnesses and increases wellness and fertility. It speeds healing and provides strong support during Western procedures such as surgery and cancer treatment. CF-EA supports a balanced body, mind and spirit. To the Chinese, the concept of “spirit” includes the emotions and qualities of will, self-respect, inner direction and the joy of life. All these aspects can be treated by this ancient tradition.
How does Classical Five-Element Acupuncture Work?
From the ancient Chinese’s perspective, human beings are sustained by a special life force they call qi (pronounced “chee”). When this qi energy is balanced and able to circulate freely, a healthy, harmonious internal environment is created. This enables us to interact with the world in a balanced way - the basis for a happy life.
At various points in our life, stresses, injury and illness weaken our system and interfere with our balanced flow of qi. As this imbalance progresses, symptoms arise which western culture labels as specific diseases.
The Chinese believed that only by addressing the underlying tensions and weaknesses arising from an imbalance of qi energy, could real healing and the restoration of health and happiness occur. These root problems are found within the relationships between the five “elements” that are responsible for the formation and maintenance of all of life, and that directly influence the cycle of health.
What conditions are treatable with Acupuncture?
The World Health Organization of the U.N. recommends acupuncture for many conditions, including:
